Amity Institute of Journey and Tourism, Amity College Uttar Pradesh, Noida performed a two-day workshop on ‘National Tourism Coverage and G20: Life Uniting Earth, People today and Tourism’ from 23 to 24 February, 2023.

The objective of the workshop was to give an insight into the various aspects of tourism that could be explored in India. A team of experts discussed the needs of the the current generation and how they could be catered to in terms of tourism.

The workshop was well attended by students from Amity University, who not only had the chance to discover their own potential and interests, but also had the privilege of direct interactions with professionals and experts in the field of tourism. Expert speakers discussed a wide range of topics such as the opportunities offered by India in the tourism sector and ways to make efficient use of these opportunities.

The speakers spoke about the different types of tourist destinations present in India, as well as the cultural aspects that can be showcased while travelling. They also discussed emerging trends in tourism and how these trends are being leveraged by the tourism industry. The speakers sought to enlighten the participants on how they can make the best use of the technological advances and development in order to make a sustainable use of their resources.

Mr. N.K. Arora, Director of Amity University, emphasised the importance of such workshops in creating awareness and connecting people with the potential of global tourism. He further added that such activities help to create a synergy between the different stakeholders of tourism and to focus on the global ecological sustainability of travel.

The workshop was a huge success and enabled the participants to gain a greater appreciation for the global tourism industry.
