The MoU facilitates the organization to collaborate for the development of innovative projects and cutting edge technologies that can be used for the development of railways and other infrastructure-related activities throughout India. The research and development activities will be done from the IIT Kanpur campus and the projects will be managed and supervised by the faculty.

The MoU also facilitates an exchange of top-level experts to interact with each other and share knowledge and ideas. It will help to bring in new industrial practices and improve the existing research capabilities of the institute. In addition, the exchange program will also enable the students at IIT Kanpur to gain insights and expertise in Rites related projects and engineering activities.
